Eye Care Awareness Foundation was registered in Dec. 1995 under societies registration act XXI of 860. But the activities started from 1986 onwards. It is exempted under section 80G (5) of IT Act 1961 vide NQ.DIT (E) I 2011-12/DEL-EE 23369-17102011/3106. Dated 17/10/2011 Valid from A-Y 2012-13 onwards.
Our Objective :
1. To promote Eye Care Awareness to masses.
2. To do free Eye surgery for poor patients with modern facilities.
3. To reward medical practitioners for their human care work.
4. To impart technical training in field of Ophthalmology and allied branches
5. To build state of art Eye Hospital with world class ophthalmic services, which is self sufficient. It will have satellite centres to cater free treatment to poor patients.

We would like to involve people from all walk of life including ministers, Sevretaries, IAS & IPS officers, Industrialists, beaurocrats, businessmen, educationists and others to promote Eye Awareness to masses. We plan to build a World class Eye Hospital, which should be self sustainable and would have satellite centres around, to reach common man. Our motto is NOBODY SHOULD LOSE SIGHT because of ignorance and best of EYE CARE should reach to masses. |

HISTORY |

Eye Care Awareness Foundation was conceived as early as in 1980 when first charitable cataract operaiotn was performed in Calcutta by founder Dr. Sharad Lakhotia. By 1983 he performed over 10,000 surgeries in West Bangal, Orissa, Bihar. Since then he has been regularly organizing free Eye Screening & Cataract operation Camps in Delhi, Haryana, U.P. & also Rajasthan. It got registered in 1995.
Since 1990, we were doing Cataract Surgery with intraocular Lens Implatation. Since 1996, we started doing phaco surgery in Camps, We provided free surgery but cost of material was reimbursed by donars. We have by now organized over thousand Camps & performed over several thousands surgeries free of cost to poor people. |
